What “Confirmed” means

A Confirmed badge means ASTRA checked a company's contact details and matched its listed aircraft to the documents it uploaded. Here's exactly what that covers.

What we check

  • The company's phone and email reach a real person at that company.
  • An Air Operator Certificate (AOC) and a Certificate of Insurance (COI) are uploaded.
  • Each tail number they list appears on the documents they uploaded.
  • The insurance certificate's dates are current. We remind them before it expires.

What we don't check yet

  • Whether the documents themselves are genuine or valid.
  • The company's FAA standing, safety record or audit ratings.
  • The condition of any aircraft, or crew qualifications.
  • How well a company communicates or performs. Reviews and reply times help with that.

The three badges

Confirmed
All checks above passed and the insurance is current. Can bid and post.
Being checked
Submitted and waiting, or a document expired. Can't bid until done.
Not yet confirmed
Listed from public information. The company hasn't claimed its listing.

Do your own checks too

Before you fly, you can look up an operator's certificate with the FAA and ask for its safety audit reports. Your broker can help you with this.
